Welcome to Purple Eagle
Purple Eagle is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering educational innovation and student empowerment. With a strong focus on K-12 education, we specialize in creating transformative learning opportunities, harnessing artificial intelligence tools, developing cutting-edge curricula, offering expert consultation services, and advocating for forward-thinking educational policies. Our work primarily serves students and educators in Pennsylvania, with operations in both Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
Through our collaborative efforts with educators, schools, and community organizations, Purple Eagle is committed to reshaping the future of education by bridging gaps, fostering innovation, and advocating for meaningful change in K-12 education.
Our mission is to equip students with essential skills, the latest technology tools, and real-world knowledge to thrive in an evolving educational landscape.
From YINZ to JAWN: Expanding to West Philadelphia!
Purple Eagle is growing. After building successful makerspace and entrepreneurship programs in Pittsburgh, we are proud to announce our expansion into West Philadelphia public schools.
This new chapter brings Purple Eagle’s mission to equip middle and high school students with real-world skills in design, fabrication, and entrepreneurship into classrooms across West Philly. With makerspaces outfitted with equipment such as 3D printers, laser engravers, and heat presses, students will learn how to create products, launch entrepreneurial activities, and develop the confidence to become future innovators and leaders.
Our expansion is made possible through the bringing together the support of community partners like the School District of Philadelphia, Walmart SparkGood and a Philadelphia-based university, who share our vision for equitable access to STEAM and entrepreneurship opportunities.
What this means for West Philadelphia schools:
· New makerspaces launching in priority schools beginning in 2025.
· Hands-on training for students in fabrication, safety, budgeting, and business.
· Collaboration with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to sustain and grow impact.
Coming in 2025-2026: Purple Eagle & Carnegie Mellon University Capstone Collaboration
Purple Eagle is partnering with a final-year Carnegie Mellon University undergraduate student to design an online platform that helps high school students discover and participate in clubs, activities, and community programs throughout their high school years.
This platform will serve as a digital hub to inspire engagement beyond the classroom — connecting students with opportunities to build leadership skills, explore interests, and strengthen their college and career readiness.
Importantly, Purple Eagle student participants will serve as co-designers and testers, ensuring that the platform reflects real student needs and experiences. Their voices will help shape a tool that empowers students everywhere to get involved, stay connected, and grow as changemakers.
